While price is usually the primary motivating factor that causes businesses to look at China, the quality and management issues are what makes them turn away. This is why we offer Qualified Sourcing – technically based, practically minded, no-nonsense, transparent sourcing that is grounded on understanding the client’s business and how low-cost sourcing can help them strategically and maintain their competitiveness in the market.

When we source for our clients, we do not simply obtain quotations and pass on purchase orders. We search for qualified suppliers with the strong management that provides proper technical leadership. Our own technical personnel then physically inspect and validate their facilities and personnel. During the production phase our people also monitor and consult with the supplier and client maintain a channel of communication that ensures products will be completed on time and to specification.

A major classification of the sourcing Helios does is known as contract manufacturing. Under this type of sourcing, a client will contract the manufacture of specific parts for a specific term. Parts are detailed through samples and drawings. Specific standards of quality and price are guaranteed for the term of the contract.

Human Capital Sourcing

We have special partnerships in place that allows us to source skilled labor for special markets where specific skills are in short supply. These areas include Western Canada and Western Australia. We are able to tap labor pools in China and the Philippines to serve a client’s specific needs.

Qualified personnel are trained, certified and processed through the proper immigration channels to the destinations where they are required. Personnel are available for both short and long-term needs as well as contracted project work.

Supply Chain Management

Helios manages the activities involved in sourcing, procurement, conversion, and logistics, including coordination and collaboration with channel partners, which can be suppliers, intermediaries and third-party service providers. We directly interact with production management to coordinate scheduling and quality inspections prior to shipment. Product shipments can be routed directly to the client, the client’s customer or any other location.

Helios can also hold shipments in our own warehouse or perform receiving inspections prior to products being shipped to the client. Under the receiving function, Helios can repackage items, do light assembly work as well as consolidate orders from various suppliers to increase freight efficiency.

Integral to supply chain management in China is the ability to purchase in local currency and eligibility for VAT tax rebates. As a duly-registered Chinese company, Helios has these capabilities and is an authorized importer and exporter in the Chinese mainland. This opens the possibility for accepting special parts from overseas for local assembly with locally sourced parts as well as managing local supply chains within China for our clients’ Chinese customers.

Export freight arrangement can be handled seamlessly from any port in China including customs clearance and local freight to and from port facilities. Helios can accept and disburse payments in various currencies and letter of credit through our holding company in Hongkong as well as through the operating subsidiary in China.

Partnership

Helios is always looking for new companies who are looking to import their products into China or are in need of representation in China. Specific arrangements can be discussed on an individual basis depending on the specific needs of the business and the partner.

Punch Press Products

Helios is currently partnered with Punch Press Products Inc. (“PPP”), a metal stamping company based in Los Angeles, California. Helios is PPP’s representative in China, authorized to perform work as an official sources, inspects and validates plant facilities, obtains quotations on new products, addresses PPP’s customers in China and deals with any technical and commercial issue that may arise in China and the Asia Pacific.

Philippine Standard Rubber

Helios has partnered with the largest producer and exporter of natural rubber in the Philippines. We are able to deliver product of consistent quality at a competitive price.

Both spot purchases and long-term supply agreements are welcome. We are willing to arrange trial orders in order for potential customers to test the product prior to buying in larger volumes.
